Welcome to the Town of Ellington

Shop Ellington 2023

THANK YOU FOR PARTICIPATING!

From Friday, November 24, 2023, through Sunday, December 10, 2023, twenty-five (25) Ellington businesses participated in Shop Ellington 2023 – the fourth annual buy-local campaign, sponsored by the Ellington Economic Development Commission.  The event corresponded with Small Business Saturday and kicked-off the day after Thanksgiving, running through Sunday, December 10, 2023.  During the campaign, patrons earned bingo squares by visiting participating businesses.  Bingo cards with a minimum of one completed row or column (5 squares) were eligible to enter raffle drawing for pre-paid gift cards (12 gift cards for a prize total of $305.00). This year, twenty-nine (29) patrons submitted forty-five (45) qualifying raffle cards that document 190 visits at the following participating businesses:

Arlo Leather Goods; Backroads Smokin’ BBQ, 292 Sandy Beach Road; Benware Automotive, 408D Somers Road; Earthlight Technologies, 128 West Road; Ellington Agway, 74 West Road; Ellington Depot, Inc., 1 Crystal Lake Road; Ellington Farmers’ Market, 37 Maple Street; Ellington Fine Consignments, 12 Main Street; Ellington Nutrition Stop, 175 West Road; Ellington Printery, 25 West Road; Five Corners Wine and Spirits, 192 Windsorville Road; Gold and Diamond Exchange, 8 West Road; Hometown Pizza, 175 West Road; JRego’s Gathering Place, 175 West Road; Johnny Appleseed’s Farm Fruit Stand, 185 West Road; K-Rocket’s Engineering and Tech School, 2 Abbott Road; Kloter Farms, 216 West Road; LuAnn’s Bakery and Café, 238 Somers Road; LuAnn’s Coffee and Good Eats Drive Thru, 140 West Road; Lucky Nails, 135 West Road; Nellie McKnight Museum, 70 Main Street; Neil’s Fine Wines & Liquors, 175 West Road; The Eyeglass Place of Ellington, 175 West Road; Indian Valley Branch Y.M.C.A., 11 Pinney Street; Dzen Garden Market, 187 Windsorville Road.

Commission Chairman Sean Kelly said, “Results from the Shop Ellington Campaign continue to improve each year. More and more people are participating each year and it’s largely due to marketing and word-of-mouth communication.” The Ellington Economic Development held the raffle drawing at a publicly held meeting on December 13, 2023, and is pleased to announce the following raffle drawing winners: Valerie Amsel, Doug Harding, Pat Halpin, Linda Zimmerman, Gary Blanchette, Becky Sanford, Doreen Brady, Deb Lynch, Pat Witinok, and Ed Lawson.

On behalf of the Ellington Planning Department and the Ellington Economic Development Commission, thank you to each participating business, to all that helped advertise the event, and each patron that took part in Shop Ellington 2023. Special thanks to Kelly Bouchard of the Ellington Nutrition Stop for donating a $30 gift card raffle prize.
