Starting on Monday, June 19th, in conjunction with the Town Project to replace the Strawberry Road Bridge over Abbey Brook (approximately 150 ft east of the Strawberry Road/Blueberry Circle intersection), ROTHA Contracting Company, Inc. of Avon will implement the road closure and detour for this project.
The initial work of installing the detour signing and utility relocations is currently occurring. Once the roadway is closed, the existing culverts will be removed, and a new structure will be installed. The detour will use Somers Road (Route 83), Hoffman Road, Egypt Road, and Blueberry Circle.
Work on the project will include removal of the culverts, installation of the bridge substructure and a precast three-sided bridge, stream bank and channel reconstruction, roadway guide rail installation, and roadway paving. The roadway is expected to be reopened by November 3, 2023.
