The project is identified as State Project No. 0047-0120.
The purpose of the project is to replace Bridge No. 06141, which is structurally deficient. The existing structure, built in 1940, is a triple cell corrugated steel arch culvert with reinforced concrete end walls. The total structure length is 22 feet and the curb-to-curb roadway width is 30 feet. The proposed replacement consists of a precast concrete rigid frame structure founded on piles. The structure will have a 32-foot clear span with a 30-foot curb-to-curb width consisting of 2, 15-foot travel lanes.
There are right-of-way impacts associated with the proposed improvements Temporary and permanent ROW impacts are anticipated for this project. Minor property acquisitions in the form of a permanent take or a permanent easement may be required for roadway or structural features resulting from widening the bridge on either side. Temporary construction easements will be required at all four corners of the proposed bridge for construction as well as for in-water work, both upstream and downstream of the bridge.
Construction is anticipated to begin in Spring 2022 based on the availability of funding, acquisition of rights of way and approval of permit(s). The estimated construction cost for this project is approximately $1,580,000. This project is anticipated to be undertaken with 80 percent Federal Funds and 20 percent Town funds.
