Town Referendum - FY 2023-24 Budget & Windermere Building Project Appropriation

Budget - 387 YES, 246 NO (Passed)
Windermere - 418 YES, 219 NO (Passed)
A referendum was held at the Ellington Senior Center, 40 Maple Street, on Tuesday, May 23 from 6:00 am to 8:00 pm to allow electors the opportunity to vote on the following questions:
"SHALL THE TOWN OF ELLINGTON APPROPRIATE, AS RECOMMENDED AND AS ALLOCATED BY THE BOARD OF FINANCE, THE TOTAL SUM FOR ALL EXPENDITURES, A/K/A BUDGET GRAND TOTAL FOR THE FISCAL YEAR 2023-2024, $68,255,699?"
"SHALL THE TOWN OF ELLINGTON APPROPRIATE AN ADDITIONAL $12,960,000 (INCREASING THE APPROPRIATION AND BORROWING AUTHORIZATION TO AN AGGREGATE $74,600,000) FOR COSTS RELATED TO RENOVATIONS, IMPROVEMENTS, AND ADDITIONS TO WINDERMERE ELEMENTARY SCHOOL, AND AUTHORIZE THE ISSUANCE OF BONDS AND NOTES TO FINANCE THE PORTION OF THE PROJECT COST NOT PAID FROM GRANTS?"
Special Town Meetings were held on Tuesday, May 9 and Thursday, May 11 at the Ellington High School Auditorium to allow electors and citizens qualified to vote in Town Meetings to consider and discuss the two topics.
