Filing Certificates
A copy of your birth certificate is on file in the Town Clerk's Office of the town in which you were born and in the Town in which your mother lived at the time of your birth.
Requesting a Certificate
Birth certificates are confidential in Connecticut and are only available to the individual (you must be 18 years or older), his or her spouse, parent, adult child, grandparent, or legal guardian. Please provide proper identification, such as a driver's license or picture ID. Certified copies are $15 each for wallet size and $20 each for full size.
Certified Birth Certificates
To receive a Certified Birth Certificate (PDF) you must complete a request form. Please include a self-addressed, stamped envelope for mail requests. Certified copies are $20 for full-sized and $15 for wallet-sized.
