Senior Center - The Ellington Senior Center is a place that provides an environment for an individual age 55 years+ and/or adults with disabilities to enhance a healthy lifestyle that maintains independence, dignity, self respect and productivity through participation in recreational, social, educational, informational and healthy activities and programs.
Human Services - The Human Services Department provides programs and services that meet the social services, health care, and transportation needs of the community. Residents are provided direct service or referred to community-based programs.
Hall Memorial Library - The Hall Memorial Library is a vital and welcoming community resource for all residents seeking reading materials, resources, and opportunities for arts, culture, and lifelong learning, items for leisure and entertainment, access to computers and the internet, and great programming for all ages. The friendly and knowledgeable staff provides personalized services to aid with research, assist with computer skills, or find that just-right book.
Parks and Recreation - The Parks and Recreation Commission and Recreation staff continue to make a concentrated effort to provide a cross section of quality programming on a year-round basis. An earnest effort has been made to create and offer programs, both on a passive and non-passive basis, for all age groups within the community.
Building Department - The principal function of the Building Department is to administer the State Building Code as it relates to the Town of Ellington's buildings and structures. By working closely with all Town departments and overseeing all building construction, it is an essential part of the process that protects public health and safety.
Police - The principle function of the Connecticut State Police personnel is to protect life and property. This is done by a team consisting of a State Police Sergeant and 4 Resident State Troopers, 14 Police Constables, 3 Marine Constables, and Troopers from Troop C in Tolland.
