We are saddened to share the news of Ellington Police Officer Joe Grayeb’s passing while on duty with the Rocky Hill Volunteer Ambulance on Friday, November 12, 2021. He was a friend to all of our emergency services agencies and always supported their efforts to serve. He will be greatly missed. Our thoughts and prayers are with his friends, family and fellow EMTs and police officers.
About the Department

The principle function of the Connecticut State Police personnel is to protect life and property. This is done by a team consisting of a State Police Sergeant and 4 Resident State Troopers, 14 Police Constables, 3 Marine Constables, and Troopers from Troop C in Tolland.

The team is backed up by the entire State Police Department and its specialized units which include:

  • Bomb Squad
  • Canine Corps
  • Detective Division
  • Emergency Services Unit
  • Fire Marshal's Division
  • Forensic Laboratory
  • Major Crime Squad
  • Narcotics Unit
  • Traffic and Truck Squads
