About the Department
The principle function of the Connecticut State Police personnel is to protect life and property. This is done by a team consisting of a State Police Sergeant and 4 Resident State Troopers, 14 Police Constables, 3 Marine Constables, and Troopers from Troop C in Tolland.
The team is backed up by the entire State Police Department and its specialized units which include:
- Bomb Squad
- Canine Corps
- Detective Division
- Emergency Services Unit
- Fire Marshal's Division
- Forensic Laboratory
- Major Crime Squad
- Narcotics Unit
- Traffic and Truck Squads
