Food Pantry and Resources
ELLINGTON HUMAN SERVICES FOOD PANTRY
The Ellington Human Services Food Pantry is located at the Human Services Department, 31 Arbor Way. Food is distributed on a monthly basis. You must be an Ellington resident and meet the income requirements in order to receive food from the Food Pantry. For more information on signing up, contact Human Services at 860-870-3128.
Monetary donations and donations of non-expired, non-perishable food items are graciously accepted. The Food Pantry is open by appointment only and operates during Town business hours. We also have an Amazon wish list here that will deliver your donation right to our door.
“Grandma’s Pantry” is a little food pantry available to anyone in need of food and is accessible any time of day. It is located near the parking lot in front of the Human Services Department at 31 Arbor Way. Take what you need or give what you can.
Mobile Foodshare offers a site in Ellington for anyone in need of food assistance. This site, like most others, is open once every two weeks. Food choices vary from week to week, but usually include several types of fresh produce. Please remember to bring bags or boxes with you to carry your food.

STOCK UP ELLINGTON - A Community Food/Supplies Drive
We are collecting food and household supplies every month. Each month will be a new FUN theme. Please follow us on Facebook for the latest information. We ALWAYS accept non-perishable food items! Donations can be dropped off at Ellington Human Services, 31 Arbor Way or Hall Memorial Library.
OTHER FOOD PANTRY OPTIONS*
Hockanum Valley Community Council Food Pantry - provides a weekly food distribution. Contact them for more information.
Crystal Lake Food Pantry at United Methodist Church, Ellington - provides a weekly food distribution on Mondays from 9:45am-12pm. Contact them for more information.
*We ask that you/your household only utilize one food pantry (Ellington Human Services, Hockanum Valley or Crystal Lake).
MEALS ON WHEELS
Home-bound seniors (age 60 and over) may be eligible to receive healthy lunches delivered to their door. After referrals are placed, hot lunches will be delivered between 10:00 am – 1:00 pm. Special diets and textures are available, as well as, the option of cold dinners and double meals, as needed.
A $3.00 donation per meal is suggested to help cover costs. However, no one is denied a meal if unable to pay.
