HealthEquity  What is an HSA?  A Health Savings Account (HSA) is a tax-free savings account that can be used to pay for medical expenses not covered by high-deductible health plans.  The Town of Ellington HSA accounts are with People's United Bank.  Each eligible employee will need to open an HSA account prior to receiving the Town's HSA deposit. 

Planning to retire this year?  Because Medicare is considered another health plan, you're no longer eligible to contribute money to your HSA once you enroll. There is also a Medicare 6-month look-back to be considered.  Know how your retirement date is affected by any deposits (from the Town or personally) made to your HSA so you know when to stop contributions:  Click here for more information
