  1. Drop-Off Recycling Center Open

    June 1, 2019, 9:00 AM - 12:00 PM @ Town Garage

    The following items can be brought to the drop-off center: waste oil, antifreeze, vehicle batteries, textiles, propane tanks (5 lbs. and 20 lbs.), televisions and electronics, computer components, and fluorescent light bulbs. It is no longer acceptable to drop off materials when the center is closed.

  3. MidNEROC Household Chemical Waste Drop-off Facility Open

    June 1, 2019, 9:00 AM - 2:00 PM @ MidNEROC

    Some accepted materials:mercury thermometers and thermostats, dry cleaning fluid, fluorescent bulbs, arts and crafts supplies, rechargeable batteries, general purpose cleaners, aerosol cans with hazardous content, drain cleaners, metal polishers, floor cleaners, oven cleaners, wax and polishes, tile cleaners, toilet cleaners, gasoline, fire starters, engine/radiator flushes, chemistry kits, paints, rust preventative, wood preservative, lead based paint, solvents, degreasers, wood strippers, paint thinner, fertilizers with pesticides and herbicides, muriatic acid, insect spray, pool chemicals, etc. Not Accepted: medications, asbestos, explosives, fireworks, and ammunition NOTE: Leftover latex paint may also be disposed of in your regular household trash. First, harden or dry it by removing the lid and placing the can in a safe, well-ventilated area.

  4. CT Trails Day Walk

    June 1, 2019, 10:00 AM - 11:00 AM @ Kimball Forest Trail

    Join us for a walk celebrating Connecticut trails on the Annual Trails Day sponsored by the CT Forest & Park Association. This .67 mile trail includes several brooks and flowing mountain laurel in the spring. Parking is available on Hopkins Road across from 39 Hopkins Road. We encourage visitors to car pool if possible. Please be respectful of neighboring residential properties. Access to the trailhead is on the south side of Hopkins Road. Registration is recommended. Go to www.ctwoodlands.org and look for the Ellington event under CT Trails Day.
