The Town is required by Connecticut State Statute Section 29-305 to conduct an inspection of every occupancy within its jurisdiction with the exception of single and two-family homes and certain "townhouse" type construction. Designation as a condominium does not negate this mandate. Multi-family residential, educational, public assembly, high hazard and certain institutional occupancies must be inspected annually. Other occupancies are inspected less frequently, on a 2-year, 3-year or 4-year cycle. This department will notify you when an inspection is due and we will schedule that inspection with you for your convenience.
