Welcome to the Town of Ellington.
Incorporated in 1786, Ellington is a community with
a rural charm and suburban convenience, located 15 minutes
from Hartford, in Tolland County.
The Town is a diverse blend of agriculture, industrial,
commercial and residential homes, set against the backdrop
of the Shenipsit State Forest. With over 3,000 acres
under cultivation, Ellington remains one of the largest
agricultural production towns in Connecticut. Ellington’s
population is 13,952 (2003 estimate) and covers 34.6
sq. miles.
Ellington is truly a great
place to grow.
