Election Day and Primary Information

Tuesday, August 14th is Primary Day in Connecticut

There will be primaries to select candidates to represent the Democratic and Republican parties on the November ballot.  Only voters registered as a Democrat or Republican may vote in their respective primary.  On the Democratic ticket there are candidates for Governor, Lieutenant Governor, Treasurer, and Attorney General.  The Republican primary will be selecting candidates for Governor, Lieutenant Governor, US. Senator, Treasurer, Comptroller and Attorney General. 

If you are uncertain if you are a member of one of the major parties, you may check your party affiliation online at the Secretary of State's website: 
https://portaldir.ct.gov/sots/LookUp.aspx    This lookup tool also provides your polling location.  The deadline is Monday at noon for Unaffiliated Voters to register to vote in either party to be eligible to vote in the primary. Both of Ellington's polling locations: Ellington High School (District 1) and Crystal Lake School (District 2) and will be open from 6:00 AM to 8:00 PM on Tuesday, August 14th.   See sample ballots below.  See you at the Polls!  Please feel free to email or call the Registrar Office for additional information.
